Tina
I’ve lived in Nottingham for 16 years, moving from Co. Durham with my two children. I relocated here to be with someone who treated me badly and he eventually kicked me out, leaving me and my children homeless.
I eventually got my own property for me and my children and got a job as a Youth Worker. I ended up doing this for 11 years and loved working with the children.
After finishing with my job as a Youth Worker I spent time with my children for a few years. I felt I needed support for myself and came across Support for Survivors and met Maxi Leigh in August 2017. I eventually became a volunteer support worker. And have never looked back. I do the admin side of things for the charity, working my way back up to become a support worker again.
I love to cook and bake cakes. I have a grandson who is five years old and I usually bake with him. I also like to write poems and short stories, as well as watching movies when I get the chance. I am a full-time carer for my disabled son who is 25 years old.
